2.12- flynn raydor rios sanchez lrGreat news for Major Crimes fans in the UK! Universal Channel has announced that the winter episodes of season two, currently airing in the United States, will begin their run across the pond on Monday, January 13th at 9pm.

Major Crimes has been a strong performer in the UK, with its summer airing of the first part of season two building its audience to very nearly take the lead as the channel’s highest-rated program from perennial frontrunner Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

The website TVWise is reporting that the Universal Channel has acquired the rights to both the first and upcoming second seasons of the show. With a tentative premiere date of April for season 1, it’s very possible UK fans will get to experience the first two seasons almost back-to-back, skipping over the long hiatus between seasons in the United States (season two is expected to air on TNT in summer, 2013).

Updated, 3/2/13- Major Crimes will premiere in the UK on Monday, March 18th at 10pm on the Universal Channel!
