
The holidays brought good cheer to Major Crimes, with 3.82 million viewers tuning in to watch the squad crack the case of the “Felony Santacides” and meet the rest of the Raydor clan. The episode won the night as the most watched scripted cable offering of the evening, and improved on last weeks live numbers by 8%. In the 18-49 demographic, the episode remained steady withthe previous outing, pulling in 0.6 million viewers.
Meanwhile, last week’s episode continued to bring good tidings, coming in as the most- watched scripted cable offering of the week. So far the episode has drawn 6.8 million viewers in Live + 3, an increase of 4% over the prior week. In key demographics the episode showed even more significant gains, with 2.1 million adults 21-54 (up 11% over the prior week) and 1.6 million adults 18-49 (up 13% over the prior week). For those with a touch of schadenfreude, we can’t resist noting that Major Crimes has beat out fellow TNT series The Librarians in the ratings for the past two weeks, despite the latter being much more heavily promoted.
With one week left to go for 2014, Major Crimes is set to finish the year on a high note as the 6th most watched cable series of the year, and is poised to rise to the #2 spot for TNT’s most watched series of the year.

With three episodes left to air this year. Major Crimes is also finishing the season on a high note within TNT’s own series, rounding out the Top 3 most watched scripted cable offerings from the network, averaging 6.8 million total viewers. In the key 25-54 demo Major Crimes is in fourth place for the network, with 2.0 million total viewers.
