Major Crimes Renewed for Season 3!


blue cast promoThe long wait is over- TNT has renewed Major Crimes for season 3!

Via press release: “TNT’s Major Crimes will return for a third season. The hit crime-drama, which currently ranks as one of basic cable’s Top 5 series, is drawing more than 6.7 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery. The show is also one of basic cable’s Top 10 summer dramas among adults 25-54 (2.1 million). Currently airing Mondays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), Major Crimes is set to wrap up its summer run Aug. 19. It will return in November for the second half of the season. TNT has ordered 15 episodes for season three, which is slated to begin in summer 2014.”

Elsewhere it was also noted Major Crimes will return on Monday, November 25th with the final 8 episodes of season 2.

Ratings Notes- Major Crimes Wins Night, Gains in Total Viewers and Key Demos


2.10- raydor tao lrThe penultimate Major Crimes of the summer season gathered another huge ratings win, topping the night as the highest rated scripted cable offering, and coming in with 5.310 million total viewers (a 4% increase over the previous week) as well as getting a strong bump in the 18-49 demo with 0.9 (an increase of almost 20% vs’ the previous week!)  (Source: TVbytheNumbers)

- Last weeks episode of Major Crimes ranked as one of basic cable’s top three programs for the week with total viewers, and also had significant gains over the prior week. So far the episode, which featured a bevy of classic TV guest-stars has grown to 6.9 million viewers in Live + 3 day ratings, an increase in viewers of 5% over the prior week. A ‘Major’ Win for Graham Patrick Martin


2.02-rusty1 lrIn a new interview with the New York Post, Graham Patrick Martin talks about his early career, and the challenges and concerns he faced taking on the role of Rusty on Major Crimes.

“When actor Graham Patrick Martin joined the cast of the TNT drama “Major Crimes” last year, he felt major pressure to succeed on the spinoff of “The Closer.”

“I was kind of nervous just because my character was going to be a pivot point between the shows,” he says about portraying Rusty Beck, a homeless hustler and witness in a homicide case who was first introduced in last summer’s series finale of “The Closer,” which starred Kyra Sedgwick.

“I was afraid if my character didn’t work and people didn’t buy into it, then the whole show would tank — and it would be my fault,” he says. “It was very terrifying, but kind of the reality of the situation.”

Ratings Notes- Major Crimes Wins Night with Another Ratings High

The episode featuring a bevy of classic TV veterans became the second most-watched episode of the season, coming at 5.120 million total viewers and 0.7 million 18-49 in Live + Same Day ratings. - Episode 206 of Major Crimes has continued to grow its audience, coming in with 6.9 million viewers and 2.0 million adults 25-54 in Live + 7, an increase of almost 2% over the prior week in total viewers.
