TweetTNT has announced that the episode order for this season of Major Crimes has been increased by 8 episodes, to a total of 21 episodes for the 5th season of the series.

The extension comes a week after Major Crimes premiered to strong ratings, coming in as the 3rd Most Watched Cable Series of the week for its premiere episode.

MajorCrimesTV.net has learned exclusively that the original 13 episodes that were ordered for this season will air as a whole this summer; the additional 8 episodes will air later in the year, but no word yet if they will be set around the holidays, or if, like in season 4, they may debut in winter 2017.
