Ratings: Major Crimes Hits New Season High, Wins Night as Most-Watched Scripted Program

409-2Major Crimes hit a new milestone in its penultimate episode of the summer season, with last nights episode bringing in 4.57 million total viewers and becoming the most-watched episode of the season thus far. The episode also won the night as the Most Watched Scripted Cable Program for the 9th consecutive week.

Major (see what we did there!)increases were also seen in the all-important key advertiser demographic, with a 16% increase over the prior weeks episode for a total of 0.7 million viewers 18-49 years old.

The ratings for last nights episode also make it the most-watched episode of any of TNT’s summer programming this year, including Rizzoli and Isles. Major Crimes has consistently outperformed much of the rest of TNT’s summer programming including its Monday night lead-out Murder in the First (2.18/0.3), Proof (2.11/0.3), The Last Ship (2.85/0.8), and Falling Skies (1.93/0.5).

In time delayed ratings Major Crimes continues to show tremendous growth. In Live + 3 viewership episode 407 has thus far risen to 5.82 million viewers, a 37% growth over it’s Live + Same Day impact. Meanwhile in Live + 7 day, episode 406 finished with a total viewership of 8 million (a 6% increase over the prior week). In key demographics the increase with even greater, with 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 2.2 million adults 25-54 tuning in, an increase of 6% and 10%, respectively.

Overall, across all of TNT’s viewing platforms Major Crimes is reaching an average of 10.2 total viewers per episode. In addition, Major Crimes continues to be one of the most-watched cable programs this summer, consistently in the Top 2 Most Watched Scripted Programs Week-to-Week (trading the top spot with fellow TNT series Rizzoli and Isles throughout the summer), as well as claiming a spot in the Top 10 scripted programs for the summer in viewers 18-49 and 25-54.
