Continuing on its winning streak for the summer season, Major Crimes rose again in the ratings last night for the third consecutive week, bringing in 4.4 million viewers, matching its season high and winning the night as the Most Watched Scripted Cable Program for the 8th week in a row.

In key demographics the episode was down only slightly from last weeks season high demo, bringing in 0.6 million viewers 18-49.

Last week’s episode continued to outperform all other cable series, and finished as the Most Watched Scripted Cable Program of the Week. Major Crimes continues to finish first amongst the rest of TNT’s summer slate, including Monday night lead-out Murder in the First (2.18/0.3) Rizzoli and Isles (4.15/0.6), Proof (1.83/0.2), The Last Ship (2.95/0.7), and Falling Skies (2.03/0.5).

In time-delayed ratings, Major Crimes continues to show strong increases week over week. In Live + 3 day ratings Episode 406 has grown 43% to 5.91 million total viewers. In key demographics the impact was even greater, as the episode fully doubled its 18-49 viewership to 1.0 million.  Meanwhile episode 405 finished its run by rising 52% over its live numbers to reach 6.125 total viewers. It rose further in key demographics, fully doubling its reach with 1.0 million total viewers 18-49 years old.

With numbers like these, and TNT’s renewal announcement for Rizzoli and Isles last week, can Major Crimes own renewal be far behind?
