Ratings: Major Crimes Wins Night; Reigns as Most Watched Basic Cable Show For Third Consecutive Week

218-rusty binocularsThe penultimate episode of Major Crimes’ second season held its own in the ratings despite fierce competition from football and the return of network programming, with 4.950 million Live + Same Day viewers tuning in to find out Rusty’s fate. In the 18-49 demographic, the show retained its growth from last week, staying at a steady 0.8. The episode was the second-highest rated outing of the winter season, and won the night as the most watched basic cable scripted series.

Last weeks episode of Major Crimes continued its ratings dominance, coming in as basic cable’s #1 original series for the third consecutive week. It also scored big in time-delayed numbers with 7.2 million viewers in Live + 3 Day Ratings, a 20% increase over the prior week. The episode performed even better in the coveted advertiser demographics, drawing 2.2 million adults 25-54 in Live + 3 Day, and 1.5 million adults 18-49, an increase from the prior week of over 25% and 20%, respectively.
