Ratings: Major Crimes Hits New Season High in Total Viewers & Key Demos

Major Crimes Season 5 Major Crimes is continuing its strong summer performance in the ratings by once again hitting a new season high, with 4.0 million viewers tuning into last night’s intense new episode, an almost 10% increase over last week’s outing.

In key demographics, Major Crimes saw a massive 30% gain, climbing to .52 million viewers 18-49. The show ended the night as the 2nd most-watched scripted offering, just behind Rizzoli &Isles (in Major Crimes’ former timeslot), as well as amassing almost 800k more viewers than the most-watched broadcast program, CBS’s Brain Dead.

Last week’s episode continued to perform well, finishing the week as the 3rd most watched cable program, behind only HBO powerhouse Game of Thrones andRizzoli & Isles. Among all shows, cable or network, Major Crimes ended the week as the 5th most watched scripted program. In addition, Major Crimes again outperformed the rest of TNT’s slate, including The Last Ship (2.42/0.6), Animal Kingdom (1.18, 0.4), and the season premiere of Murder in the First (1.3/0.38)

Further gains were seen for the season premiere of Major Crimes in Live + 3 day DVR ratings, adding 2.14 million viewers (59%) to its live viewership for a total of  5.762 million viewers, and saw tremendous demo gains of 125% for a total of 0.9 million viewers 18-49.


Major Crimes returns with an all-new episode on Monday, July 11 at 10pm/9c on TNT.
