Big news! Sources have confirmed to MajorCrimesTV.net exclusively that the current plan for Major Crimes‘ second season includes an increase in its episode order to nineteen episodes this season, up from the fifteen episodes that were originally ordered by TNT.
No word yet on how or if the season might be split to accommodate the larger order.
Major Crimes season two will premiere Monday, June 10th at 9pm/8c on TNT.

The excitement for the upcoming season of Major Crimes has continued this week as filming began on episode two! In addition to new cast member Nadine Velazquez tweeting a variety of wonderful behind-the-scenes photos, we also got word that two favorite recurring guests will also be back this year. Kathe Mazur (DDA Andrea Hobbs) tweeted yesterday, “Cannot wait to go shoot episode three of Major Crimes. So looking forward to my peeps and my perps.” Ransford Doherty (Coroner Kendall) also confirmed his return to the show, posting “I’m baaaaaaack for Season 2 of Major Crimes! Looking forward to a great day on set today!” and this fantastic photo:

The Major Crimes family just got a little bigger!
DeadlineTV is reporting that Nadine Velazquez has been added to the cast for season two as D.D.A. Emma Rios. Emma is assigned to the Phillip Stroh case, and causes controversy with her approach to Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) as a witness in the case, and questions the motivation behind Raydor (Mary McDonnell) being his guardian.
Robert Gossett (Assistant Chief Taylor) has become the second part-time player from Major Crimes to also been promoted this season to a series regular. Last week it was announced that Jonathan Del Arco (Dr. Morales) will also be a regular this season.
Season Two of Major Crimes began filming today, and much of the cast and crew has been celebrating this with posts on facebook and twitter!

After five seasons as a recurring guest star on The Closer and one season of Major Crimes, fan-favorite Jonathan Del Arco is finally being upgraded to a series regular!
According to DeadlineTV.com, Del Arco’s character, Doctor Morales will be a regular character in season two when the show returns this summer.
