Ratings: Major Crimes Hits New Season High; Wins Night!

MAJOR CRIMES (TNT)BOOM! Major Crimes scored big last night, hitting a new season high with 5.3 million viewers tuning in to see Sharon Raydor kick her erstwhile husband to the curb and formally invite Rusty into her family. This marked an increase of 7% of the prior weeks ratings.Big gains were also seen in the key 18-49 demo, coming in at 0.9 and 1.2 million 25-54, an increase of 12% and 11% over the prior week, respectively.

The episode, featuring the teams efforts to find the killer – and identity – of a young girl, won the night as the most watched scripted cable program.

UPDATED: Meanwhile, last week’s outing came in as the second most watched basic cable show of the week, with 6.7 million viewers in Live + 3 day delivery, with 2.1 million adults 25-54 (an increase of 8% over the prior week) and 1.6 million adults 18-49 (an 11% increase over the prior week).

Hey TNT, about that renewal. We’re waiting.

 

Ratings: Major Crimes Steady in 305; Wins Night


MAJOR CRIMES (TNT)A trio of returning favorites helped Major Crimes combat the usual post-holiday lag to to remain steady in the ratings, with 4.9 million viewers tuning in to Monday’s explosive episode, and won the night as the most-watched scripted cable show.

Episode 305, featuring guest stars Jon Tenney, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Bill Brochtrup also brought in 0.8 million viewers in the18-49 demographic.

Last weeks episode of Major Crimes was the 2nd most watched scripted basic cable offering of the week, behind only fellow TNT series Rizzoli and Isles.

In time shifted viewing, the episode 302 of Major Crimes finished with 6.5 million viewers in Live + 7 day ratings.

Overall, Major Crimes now ranks in the Top 3 Most-Watched Summer Cable series, with an average of 5.9 million viewers. It also ranks in the Top 5 in Adults 25-54, with 1.7 million adults. In time-shifted viewing, Major Crimes averages +2 million additional viewers per episode over the initial Live + Same Day estimates.

Ratings: Major Crimes Rises Again; Wins Night


304- rusty mqBuilding on momentum from episode 303, last nights outing of Major Crimes rose again in the ratings, as 5.06 million viewers (0.8 18-49) tuned in for the showdown between Rusty and The Other Sharon. That marks an increase of 3% over the prior weeks outing, and Major Crimes won the night as the most watched scripted cable offering.

Meanwhile in time-delayed ratings Major Crimes also continues to grow, with last week’s episode rising to 6.6 million viewers in Live + 3, a 9% increase over the prior week, and grew a massive 20% in adults 18-49.

Major Crimes also continued to grow in Live + 7 delivery, rising to 7.4 million total viewers for the season 3 premiere, an increase in 6% over the season 2 premiere, and 2.2 million viewers in the 25-54 demographic.

Along with Rizzoli and Isles, Major Crimes is now in the Top 2 most watched returning series on basic cable for Quarter 2 of 2014. BOOM.

OK, TNT. It’s time for that Season 4 renewal now….

 

Ratings: Undercover Antics Lead Major Crimes to 4.9m Viewers; Wins Night

Last night’s undercover antics on Major Crimes brought in 4.91 million viewers, a 6% increase from last weeks episode, and won the night as the most watched scripted cable offering.

Even bigger gains were seen in the the 18-49 demographic, which rose 14% from last week to 0.8. The Maltese…. Falcon would be proud.

Ratings: Major Crimes Performs Strong in Sophomore Outing, Wins Night


302 cast hqHot on the heels of its impressive season 3 premiere ratings last week Major Crimes continued to perform well in the ratings last night, winning the night as the most watched scripted cable program, with 4.64 million viewers in Live + Same Day ratings.

Despite the expected ratings drop for the sophomore episode of the season, Major Crimes still performed very strongly, retaining a close to 90% of its premiere audience. Meanwhile, sister TNT series Murder in the First lost nearly a full third of its viewers from its debut episode.

Last weeks season premiere of Major Crimes has continued to grow in time shifted viewing, rising over 32% in Live + 3 to 6.8 million viewers, +31% in the 18-49 demo with 1.6 million, and +35% in viewers 25-54 (2.1 million). Overall, Major Crimes was the 2nd most watched cable program for the week, topped only by Game of Thrones.

 

Ratings: Major Crimes Returns With a BOOM as #1 Scripted Series Premiere of the Year


301- raydor2 lrMajor Crimes returned with a bang (or perhaps more appropriately, #BOOM), bringing in a whopping 6.7 million total viewers in season 3 premiere and encore last night, easily making it basic cable’s #1 scripted series premiere of the year!

Major Crimes scored 5.2 million total viewers for its 9pm showing, up sharply from the Season 2 and 2.5 premiere numbers (5.02 and 3.65, respectively), and remained steady with its season 2.5 finale, itself a record high (5.43).

In the demo Major Crimes also performed very strongly, bringing in 1.6 million adults 18-49, and 2 million adults 25-54, a 3% and 6% increase in over last summer’s season 2 premiere, respectively, and easily besting its new Monday night partner, the heavily promoted Murder in the First.

The Hollywood Reporter has called Major Crimes  “TNT’s crown jewel” in its lineup, and Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TNT, had this to say: “Major Crimes is a true mega-hit as it enters its third season, with an ensemble cast that’s second to none.”

In time-shifted viewing, Major Crimes rose sharply again, increasing to 6.8 million viewers in Live+3, a 32% increase over its Live+Same Day numbers. Likewise in the key demos Major Crimes also saw huge gains in Live+3, with a whopping 31% increase in the all-important 18-49 demo to 1.6 million, and a 35% increase in viewers 25-54 (2.1 million).

Ratings: Major Crimes Soars as TNT’s Top Rated Drama in Q1 of 2014

blue cast promoSeason 3 may have just begun filming, but Major Crimes is already breaking records for 2014! TNT has announced that the ratings success of the winter episodes of Season 2 has propelled Major Crimes into the top spot as TNT’s most-watched show of Quarter 1 of 2014, beating out previous ratings darling Rizzoli & Isles.

Moreover, with 7.4 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, Major Crimes now ranks as one of basic cable’s Top 3 original series for the quarter, the only one of TNT’s shows to make the list. In the 25-54 demographic, Major Crimes scored 2.2 million adults, placing it in the Top 10 for the quarter.

Congrats to the cast and crew for this prestigious honor!

Season 3 of Major Crimes premieres on June 9th at 9pm/8c on TNT.

Ratings: (UPDATED) Major Crimes Goes Out with a Bang; Hits New Season High

219-provenza raydor lrThe season finale of Major Crimes took aim and hit its target, winning as the top cable program of the night, and scoring the highest ratings of the winter season with 5.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day ratings. This was a 10% increase over last weeks episode, and a 4% increase over the previous winter season high set several weeks ago. In the targeted demos, the episode came in with 1.4 million adults 25-54 and 1.1 million adults 18-49, an increase of 6% and 4%, respectively.

UPDATED 1/24/14: The season finale of Major Crimes propelled the series into its fifth consecutive win as basic cables most watched original series of the week. In time delayed ratings, the series continued to dominate, with a massive 7.1 million viewers in Live + 3 day ratings, a 9% increase over the previous season high from the week before. In key demos, Major Crimes had 2.0 million adults 25-54 and 1.5 million adults 18-49 in Live + 3 day, a 3% and 5% increase over the prior week, respectively.

The season 2 finale of Major Crimes was not only the most watched episode of the winter season, it also scored as the most-watched episode of the entire second season, besting it’s own summer outings!

The penultimate episode of the season was the most watched original series on basic cable, with 6.5 million viewers in Live + 3 day ratings, and 1.9 million and 1.4 million viewers in the 25-54 and 18-49 demographics.

Rounding out the stellar season, as we previously reported, Major Crimes also scored a spot on the Top Ten List of Most Watched Shows in America, where it shared the number 10 spot for most watched show for the week of December 23-29th, among all shows on cable or broadcast. Among its fellow cable shows, it ranks as one of the Top Ten Shows of 2013.
